Dr. Scott Richter

Dr. Scott Richter is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated cum laude in 1977 and has over 40 years of experience working with small animals. Dr. Richter has lived at Lake Oconee with his wife Kim since 2005. They have two adult children, Taylor & Connor. He has always felt "blessed" to have become a veterinarian, because of his love for animals, but it is apparent that he also loves their owners! He gushes that "people who own pets are some of the nicest people in the world." His favorite part about being a veterinarian is the long-term relationships that develop over years of taking care of people and their pets. Dr. Richter enjoys bike riding, horseback riding and wake-boarding on Lake Oconee. He also enjoys playing fetch with his chocolate labs, Brodie and Bentley.

Dr. Jana Powell

Dr. Powell graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She went on to additionally receive a Masters in Food Animal Medicine. She moved to Eatonton, GA in 2016 to begin her veterinary career working with dairy cows. In her spare time, Dr. Powell enjoys gardening, baking, fishing & hiking. She has been with us since September 2020 & we are so lucky to have her on our team! She has an Australian Shepherd (Monty) and a cat (Bubba).

Dr. Christina McNeal

Dr. McNeal grew up in New York State, riding horses and playing softball. She attended a small private college in Connecticut on a full softball scholarship and attended Purdue university for veterinary school. After veterinary school she returned to New York to complete a rotating internship at a private equine hospital. Upon completion of her internship, Dr. McNeal completed a 3 year large Internal Medicine residency at the University of Georgia. Since then, Dr. McNeal has worked on small and large animals providing routine medical and surgical care as well as emergency services.

Dr. McNeal is delighted to be a part of the harmony crossing animal Hospital team and is excited to care for your 4 legged family members! Outside of work Dr. McNeal enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters exploring the outdoors, coaching softball and riding their horses.

Dr. Kayla Lashley

Dr. Lashley graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in Biology from Georgia College and State university in 2016. She grew up in Covington Georgia and recently moved to Monticello. In her free time she loves spending time at the lake, kayaking and reading.

Dr. Melissa Daley

Dr. Daley grew up in Northern Wisconsin. In 2014, Dr. Daley and her husband moved to Georgia. She graduated from the University of Minnesota-Saint Paul in 2019 as a mixed animal practitioner. In Dr. Daley's past time, she enjoys spending time with her husband riding motorcycles, training and competing with her bluetick coonhounds as well as hunting, and fishing. Because of her Wisconsin roots, she also has a soft spot for dairy cattle and delicious cheeses.

Taylor Richter

Taylor Richter is originally from Atlanta & has lived in Eatonton since 2005. She graduated from Georgia Southern University & received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice & Anthropology. She then went on to attend the University of Tennessee where she, & her dog Brewski, earned their Masters in counseling based Social Work with an emphasis in Veterinary Social Work. She has always had a special passion for Veterinary Medicine as she grew up going to work with her father, Scott Richter. She fondly jokes that she was "raised in an animal hospital." She proudly serves as our office manager & works to incorporate her love of Veterinary Social Work & the human-animal bond.

Brewski Richter

Brewski was born in Eatonton, GA on February 1, 2012. He is the "dog son "of Taylor Richter. He attended Georgia Southern University for his undergraduate degree & then went on to attend The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he received his Masters in Veterinary Social Work. He has been a therapy dog for both K9 Angels where he worked with hospitalized human patients receiving treatments. He also was a part of the K9 HABIT program in Tennessee where he helped do interpersonal counseling with kids at the Boys & Girls Club. He now serves as our clinic dog, giving therapy to employees, clients, and pets who need extra TLC. In his spare time he enjoys napping, car rides, boat rides, and playing fetch .

Brisket Richter

Brisket is our clinic dog *in training.* He is the "dog son" of Dr. Scott Richter & his wife Kim. He was born on New Years Day of 2024. He has stolen everyone's heart! Brisket has already learned how to sit and shake. He is enjoying being mentored by our clinic dog, Brewski, and he loves meeting all of our clients.

Brooke King, RVT

Brooke was born and raised in Eatonton. She graduated from Penn Foster College with an associates degree in science and is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). She has been a part of the veterinary field for over 10 years and she serves HCAH as our Head Veterinary Technician. She loves spending time with her two shelties, Lincoln and Eljay.

Melissa Volentine

Melissa has been on our team since 2018. She graduated from Georgia College and State University in 2015 and has been working in the veterinary field for the last ten years. Her future plans are to pursue her accreditation as a registered veterinary technician. In her free time, she enjoys spending her time with her friends, family, pets, and riding her horse.

Leslie Ames, RVT

Meet Leslie, a certified veterinary technician with over a decade of experience in the field. Since receiving her vet tech license in 2014, she has worked in both small animal and mixed animal practices.

Leslie serves Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital by collaborating with our veterinarians and her teammates to provide exceptional care for all of you fur babies. Her love for animals shines through in all aspects of her work, and she is committed to upholding the highest standards of care.

Miranda Price

Miranda was born and raised in Eatonton, GA. Upon graduating high school, she has spent the last 6 years working in the field of animal care and she currently serves Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant. She received her accreditation as a certified vet tech through the GVMA. In her spare time, she loves hanging out with her two fur babies, Sophie and Daisy. She also loves spending time with her beautiful daughter.

Mekayla Reynolds

Mekayla was born & raised in Sparta,GA. She graduated from Fort Valley State University with a Bachelors of Science in Veterinary Technology. She has a passion for working with animals and finds working with them to be therapeutic! She is pictured here with our clinic dog, Brewski.

Sarah Scott

Sarah was born and raised in Spalding County. She attends Georgia College as a pre-veterinary student. She plans to pursue her dream of being a veterinarian. In her free time, she loves spending time with friends, family, and her rescue dog Roxie.

Megan Hunt

A Greensboro native, Megan has loved animals all her life. She began working with your pets at Harmony Pet Resort where she served as a customer service representative. Through her work at the Pet Resort, she developed a passion for animals and their comfort and care. Megan now serves Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital as a Receptionist and Pet Resort Liaison. In her spare time, she loves playing with her Golden Retriever, Tucker. She also loves playing softball and enjoying time on beautiful Lake Oconee.

Haley Watson

Haley is from Gray, GA and has been in the veterinary field for six years. While working full time, Haley is also attending school to become a registered vet tech (RVT). Working with animals and being an animal advocate is something she looks forward to every single day and she proudly states that "this is her dream job." She loves caring for your pets, and in her spare time, she loves being home with her own fur babies.

McKayla Maddox

McKayla was born in England and raised in the small town of Gray, GA. She has been in the veterinary field for 4 years and is currently in school to become a registered vet tech (RVT). She has also been a volunteer firefighter in her home town. When McKayla isn’t caring for other’s fur babies, she is home caring for her own 6 pets and mini farm.

Sarah Leach

Sarah was born and raised in Greensboro, GA. She currently attends University of North Georgia to pursue her degree in Biology. She is also attending Penn Foster College to become a registered veterinary technician (RVT.) Sarah now serves Harmony Crossing Animal Hospital as a receptionist as she finishes college and pursues her RVT. In her free time, she loves to spend time painting, hanging out with her family, friends, and her dog, Toby.

Hannah Hausler

Meet Hannah, one of our Veterinary Assistants. Hannah graduated from Georgia College in State University in 2022 with a BS in Biology. She is currently attending St. George's School of Veterinary Medicine as a second year veterinary student. Hannah enjoys days on beautiful Lake Oconee and hanging out with her cat, Stormie.

Maddie Arona

Meet Maddie! Maddie has been in the veterinary field for four years. She is working full-time with us as she pursues her degree as a RVT. She has two dogs at home named Finnegan James & Trigger Banks. She is excited to be a part of the Lake Oconee Community! In her spare time, Maddie loves cooking, eating, golfing, going on the lake, sunset rides on the boat, & taking care of her plants and animals.
